iCloud is a kind of brand-new service released on Apple Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) in June, 2011. iCloud service can store your data and push them to all your devices (iOS device, PC, Mac) automatically and wirelessly. In the article, I will introduce you the iCloud control panel for Windows.

What is iCloud?

iCloud set in every new iOS device and Mac can not only store your data, but also show your photos, calendars, contacts, texts, etc. on all your devices. Developers can make full use of Application Program Interface (API) of iCloud to add some practical syncing functions to your apps or plug-in.

iCloud control panel (for Windows) facilitates you to update your contacts, calendars and bookmarks automatically between iOS devices and Windows PC. Take "Photo stream" as an example. When you take pictures on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch, iCloud would send these pictures to "photos", the repository of your PC wirelessly. Meanwhile, iUsers can share the picture selected from "photo stream" with their friends and family members.

Download, install iCloud control panel and enter the Apple ID firstly.

Then click "Sign In". You sync all the options provided by iCloud, such as mail, contacts, calendars, Tasks, bookmarks, photo stream, etc, which can be managed by setting on the control panel.

Syncing Bookmarks

iCloud control panel for Windows can sync with Internet Explorer (IE), so you can see the synced Bookmarks in your "Favorite" on IE.

Photo Stream

"Photo stream" helps you sync your photos with your PC. You can receive others' shared photo stream and newly-establish a shared photo stream as well. Check the location of "Photo stream" from "Option" on your PC and go to the file via "Resource Manager". With this, you can copy the photos.
If you want to share your photos with others, you need to enter their Apple ID into your newly-established shared photo stream. Likewise, if others want to share with you, they need to add your Apple ID to their shared photo stream. All the operations can be done on PC.
You can allocate iCloud's storage space properly on control panel. If you want to delete the useless content, just choose "Manage" and select the concrete option to delete it.
