People like to backup iPhone, iPad and iPod for emergency cases. It is always good to keep a backup but maybe someday you find that your laptop is working really slow. If you don't backup with iCloud, iPhone, iPad and iPod backups will be stored in your hard drive. If you sync iPhone, iPad with iTunes and shift the backup to new computer, then the old backup will occupy a lot space. Here you can delete the backup that you no longer use and free space for your PC.
Where to find the previous backups and how to delete? We will give you a clue.

Method 1:

1. Open iTunes.
2. Click "Edit" and "Preference".

3. Hit "Devices".

If you have many backups then you will see a list of backups here.

4. Choose the backup you want to remove and hit "Delete Backup" on the lower right.

Method 2:

If you think iTunes is not revealing all the backups you can go for method2.
  • Enter /Library/Application Support/MobileSync/Backup in Mac.
  • Click Run (or click Start) and type %appdata% and press enter in Windows.
  • All the backup files are in this folder, select those you don't need and delete.

Now you have removed the backups in your PC and remained the iCloud backups. iCloud backups won't show in this list. Sure you don't have to delete all the backups and leave some just in case you need them. We suggest you to remove backups only when you have other backups. You can manually make iCloud backup in your iOS device so when your PC break down you still have one in iCloud.
